The initial diagnostics of autoimmune diseases conducted in the Laboratory for Allergological and Immunological Diagnostics includes:
- Systemic lupus erythematosus (CTD screen for ANA, ds DNA)
- Sjögren’s syndrome (CTD screen for ANA anti-Ro antibodies, anti-La antibodies)
- Systemic sclerosis (CTD screen for ANA)
- Limited systemic sclerosis (CTD screen for ANA)
- Polymyositis and dermatomyositis (CTD screen for ANA)
- Mixed connective tissue disease (CTD screen for ANA)
- Antiphospholipid syndrome (cardiolipin antibodies and β2-glycoprotein 1)
- Celiac disease (antibodies to tissue transglutaminase)
- Vasculitis (ANCA antibodies – MPO and PR3)
- Inflammatory bowel disease – Crohn’s disease (ASCA)
- Autoimmune thyroiditis (antibodies to thyroid peroxidase – antimicrosomal and antibodies to thyroglobulin – antithyroglobulin antibodies)
If the findings indicate the presence of autoimmune diseases, further clinical evaluation, additional diagnostics, and therapy are conducted in clinical institutions.
- Determining antiphospholipid antibodies.
If there have been repeated spontaneous miscarriages, from a blood sample taken for determining antisperm antibodies in women, it is possible to also perform a test for cardiolipin antibodies and β2-glycoprotein, in order to exclude antiphospholipid syndrome as an immunological cause of infertility. The test includes four analyses.
The test results are issued during the working week when the sample is received, along with expert interpretation of the obtained results.
