PPD-T® tuberculin (purified protein derivative) is used as a diagnostic antigen to determine tuberculin sensitivity in individuals who have not been vaccinated with the BCG vaccine, especially when considering the need for vaccination. It is also used as an adjunct diagnostic tool in identifying Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection in adults suspected of this infection (including HIV-positive patients) and in children at high risk of developing this disease.
